Kingsley Ng casts light on the overlooked through light and sound installations. Floccus is a site-specific response to the history of the neighbourhood. Before Kai Tak Airport was built, the Sun Po Kong area, formerly known as Old Po Kong, was thought to be a field of cattails, with their cottony floccules fluttering in the air. The area eventually gave way to the flights of planes when the runways took over. Kingsley's kinetic installation, Floccus, gently rising and falling in the AIRSIDE atrium, traces these swirls of development in time. Like Sunny Mak’s “The Smells of Morning,” it brings a breeze of freshness amidst the hustle and bustle of our every day.
