MIRIAMANDTOM created The Weaver as part of a series that represents the combination of Fabric and Flight – paying tribute to Nan Fung's heritage in textiles and Kai Tak's symbolic meaning in aviation. The Weaver is a modern tapestry that tells daily stories reflecting Kai Tak’s transformation. It takes historical imagery from the area and presents them as “pixels” in new and unexpected patterns, creating a living tapestry.

MIRIAMANDTOM is a design collective working with developers, planners and public programmers to engage communities, users and stakeholders in the process of civic change. The result is that emergent projects – often in highly sensitive urban contexts – are celebrated and supported by the communities which use them. The work includes immersive light installations to cladding systems and temporary structures to sculptural furniture. MIRIAMANDTOM’s approach is also characterised by a process-driven philosophy that offers creative solutions to the cultural and social aspects of urban projects – generating both spatial as well as conceptual opportunities for social cohesion and civic engagement.

Inspired by the concept of a Resilient City, “In Time Of” programme is Nan Fung Group’s community initiative that connects people from all walks of life through social partnerships in sustainability, social design, and culture and creative industry.
