Activity 1: The Happy Shuffle
What is happiness? How can we find it? Is life solely about pursuing happiness?
Instead of dwelling on these eternal questions, let‘s focus on the small moments of joy in our daily lives and archive our ‘short-term happiness’. It could be enjoying a refreshing breeze, watching a good movie, or engaging in silly conversations with friends...
Unleash your creativity and draw your own “short-term happiness” card. You can also vote for your happiness elements on the “Happiness Chart.“
Activity 2: Chit Chat Go Around
When the music stopped suddenly, we met different strangers. Here we no longer need to start a conversation with a stiff and awkward greeting. Instead, we try to start a conversation with the doubts or discouraging things that we have thought about day and night:
“Finished my peanut butter just right before expiry date!”
“Boss left early today, and I get to meet friends on time!”
“Finally the A/C is working”
Activity 3: Monthly question: 'See you', will we really get to meet again?
We are good at planning and training ourselves to adapt in situations in life. However, plans are always off track, progressions are always slow and painful. We anticipated, we disappointed; we stayed positive, but we failed. How many tomorrows are left? What's more preparation should I make? If the pain cannot be eased, how can one live with the pain? If we have no choice at all, how can we proceed?
Our plan seems to be progressing slowly, stalling, and the future is unclear.
Then, what about today? Let's take a closer look, just focus on today. Telling yourself, “I want to be happy for the rest of today”.
Are you happy yet? “It's great to escape the downpour just now.” “Didn't have to chit chat in the elevator when heading back to office.” “Perfectly knowing what to get for lunch, jeng!”
If not, is there any "short-term happiness" that I can create for myself (Like staying up late to watch one more episode of Breaking Bad!)
