GATE33 Gallery, Shop 312
Texts are important tools within communities, connecting shops and streets with people, allowing understanding among people, and even facilitating dialogues between humans and nature.
In participation in Hong Kong's Art Month, GATE33 Gallery has invited 10 creative groups from different fields, including Sign painter Katol Lo; Graphic designer Jonathan Mak; Industrial designer Chi-wing Lee from Milk Design; Type designer Adonian Chan and more to explore local communities and draw inspiration from the use of text in the city. Through community workshops and conversations with residents, the artists have created large-scale art installations with Chinese characters, telling captivating local stories. These include Hong Kong's very first "Infinite Mirror Room of Bestowment" and The "Dance with Text" interactive experience.
